Acid / Dye Staining

Decorative Staining Services by Concrete Magic

Concrete stain is not a paint or coating agent, rather, it's a coloring process involving an internal chemical reaction within your floor produced by the application of a colored solution designed to color a surface by penetration without hiding it.

One of the most popular ways to color concrete is acid staining. However acid isn't the ingredient that colors the concrete, it's metallic salts in an acidic water based solution reacting with hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide) in hardened concrete which creates insoluble colored compounds in your concrete floor.

Each concrete slab accepts stain in varying degrees of intensity, creating stunning multi-hued color variations for a perfectly aged look that will not chip, crack or peel under normal wear conditions.

You can create distinctive effects unique to each application in a wide range of color density, from nearly transparent to rich and vibrant. This process can be combined with additional services such as a protective sealer and hardener, decorative saw cuts, joint and crack repair, or polished concrete application.
